How to use cast iron box table to mark-off?

Cast iron box tables are mainly used to check the parallelism and perpendicularity of parts and support the workpiece when scribing. They are generally cubes or cuboids with the same side length. Square boxes and rectangular tubes of various specifications and contours can be made according to user requirements. The method of use for marking is as follows:

The cast iron box is made of gray cast iron, generally 100 mm to 500 mm square cube, the size accuracy is within 0.01 mm, the relative planes are parallel to each other, the adjacent planes are perpendicular to each other, and the allowable error is within 0.01 mm. There are also many kinds of square boxes. Some workpieces are clamped on the square box with a C-shaped chuck, and all the lines perpendicular to each other can be drawn at one time by turning the square box.
The cast iron square box can also be used to raise the workpiece parallel. When the height vernier is not high enough, one, two, or three square boxes can also be placed under the height vernier, so that the scale can be marked 100, 100, higher than the height vernier scale. 200, 300 mm thread comes.
In order to facilitate clamping of various workpieces (including shaft workpieces), a special square box with a clamping device and a V-shaped groove can be used.
The scribing process is a process in general mechanical processing. Because of the tools used-scribe box, scribe plate, square ruler, etc., the lines to be drawn are limited, either parallel or vertical, and the angle between the line is always a right angle of 90°.
However, some parts of the workpiece are required to have an angle (such as the weight seat of some spinning machines in the textile industry, etc.), and this angle must be drawn on the cast iron platform (plate) with a square box. The sideline, without other auxiliary tools and molds, is bound to be difficult to complete. The theory of the sine gauge can be used for this. Using the chord length boundary and heightening the corners at one end of the square box, it can basically achieve the line tolerance within 0.5mm.
How to raise the square box? Choose the side you need, and plan an angle of 45° or greater than 45° outside the edge. One corner is a groove on the plane of the vertical box, so that the vertical edge to the edge of the box must have the data size, according to this size calculate the chord length of the angle you want to draw, and then raise or pad an iron block according to the chord length, and place the iron block on the right-angle side of the groove, which conforms to the principle of sine rule. At this point, you can draw the required corner edge line (below 45°).
